However, his latest undertaking at St. Agnes Tsaou’s Catholic Church proved to be a challenging yet profoundly rewarding experience. Fook Liew embarked on this artistic endeavour on the 5th of July, 2023, with a mission to transform the future wall of the church. What sets this project apart is not just the stunning artwork it has produced, but the incredible dedication and perseverance displayed by the artist.
Working single-handedly, Fook Liew committed his free time to this monumental task. Balancing his day-to-day responsibilities, he spent evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. inside the church, meticulously bringing the Last Supper to life. Many would shy away from the idea of working in a church at night, alone, but Fook Liew embraced this challenge.
Perched on scaffolding, he embarked on this spiritual journey, ensuring that every stroke of his brush was imbued with meaning and reverence. The process began with delicate sketching, laying the foundation for the vivid colours that would follow.
